The end of the year is often a time when entrepreneurs and growth hackers reflect on their successes and failures. And, of course, even the best entrepreneurs are harder on themselves than they need to be. As a result, they waste valuable time at the end of the year. Instead of getting energized by the time left and taking steps towards success, they wallow in disappointment at their failure.
There's still a whole month left - that's 31 full days to accomplish important goals and close out the 2018 on a high note.
Here are tips on how to get every bit out of the next 31 days:
1. Conduct a Review
Take a look back on your goals that you hoped to achieve in 2018. Did you make it? Did you get close? Did you have to adjust some? It may be easier to spot the lessons in the failures, but they exist in the winning, too, and they might just make you life easier next time.
2, Create a Realistic Action Plan
What are small, quantifiable, achievable goals you believe you can accomplish in the next 31 days? What's the next step after that? For each goal, identify 4 steps - one for each week between now and the new year - that you believe are reasonable. Even if that fourth step doesn't complete the goal, it still means you've made real headway. It will end the year on a proud note, and generate energy you can take into 2019.
3. Review Insurance Policies and Coverage
Talk to your insurance company to see if they have any recommendations. Talk to other insurers too, in case you could get a better deal. Be sure you have all statutory and recommended insurance cover.
4. Review Your Client List and Make Sure Everything is Up-To-Date
You can kill two birds with one stone here. Go through your contacts database and make sure everybody's details are correct. While you're doing this, send them an email thanking them for their business this year. They'll remember you.
5. Do a SWOT Review
The end of the year is the perfect time for a SWOT analysis -- a review of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. This will allow you to determine where your business is in comparison to the strategic plan that was established at the beginning of the year. Use this to realign end-of-year action and future year planning so your company can stay the course for continued growth and profit.
6. Plan Team Hires
What members of your team will be critical in 2019? Do you need a Virtual Assistant who specializes in Digital Marketing to craft your social media strategy? Do you want to hire a Virtual Assistant to automate your sales proces?
Year-end is not the time to rest easy on your past success. Using the marketing plan checklist above will help you prepare for 2019
now and start the new year with the momentum you need to reach your goals.
